ACE Mentoring Update

ACE is back! Covid hit the Columbus chapter hard last year: we were just about to wrap up our pilot program at Northland High School when everything was shut down. When Columbus Public Schools utilized virtual learning, the Northland STEM club felt the effects. Attendance dropped from 40+ to just over 10. Through all the challenges, both Northland and ACE were focused on continuing the program.  We just finalized the abbreviated sessions for this school year and will begin just before the end of the school year, picking up a more formal program when the schools are back to normal (or as close to it as we have been). In addition, ACE Columbus is expanding into another school. We are currently putting together a second group of mentors to start a session at the KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) High School. If you are interested in volunteering for ACE, please reach out to me.
