2020 Holiday Message
As crazy as 2020 has been, we at HAWA Engineers still have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season. Our staff has remained healthy, with no cases of Covid-19. We are heading into 2021 with all of the staff members we had when the pandemic started—and we have even added three new employees. Though we may have done so in different ways than usual this year, we have continued to grow our relationships with you, our valued partners.
This year we decided not to send out our traditional, physical holiday cards, a HAWA Engineers tradition for over 30 years. We felt that with many of our industry partners working remotely and the need to avoid our annual card signing party due to social distancing, it would be better to make donations on behalf of our clients to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank in Columbus and the Freestore Foodbank in Cincinnati.
We are hopeful when we consider what this season will bring and the differences we will make in the communities we serve as we begin 2021. Our staff will participate in various activities, fundraisers and organizations this season, including Toys for Tots, The Arthritis Foundation Virtual Jingle Bell Run and the Charity Newsies. Next year we will continue our involvement with the ACE Mentoring Program, The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Benefit Concert Association, Pelotonia and the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
As many of you know, our Chairman and Past President is retiring as a Shareholder from HAWA Engineers. Doug Coffey has dedicated over 35 years to HAWA. He has served as Design Engineer, Project Manager, Mechanical Department Head, Manager of Cincinnati Operations and President. I cannot capture the effect Doug has had on the firm and the staff that has worked here over his tenure in this holiday massage, but I can say his impact will be felt for years to come. Doug will stay engaged at HAWA in 2021, focusing on quality control, mentoring our growing staff and serving on our Board of Directors.
As we close out 2020, we at HAWA wish you all a safe and happy holiday season as well as a prosperous and more “normal” 2021.
