Responsibilities:

  • Design low voltage electrical systems: telecommunication, fire alarm systems, security systems, telecommunications, and audiovisual AV systems.
  • Perform system calculations, equipment selection and layouts, project drawings, specifications and construction cost estimates.
  • Coordination of system designs and equipment with other engineering disciplines.
  • Collaborate with clients and project teams to design low voltage systems that meet their needs and comply with current BICSI codes and regulations.
  • Support production through the preparation of drawings from redline mark-ups and design sketches.
  • Perform construction related services such as shop drawing review, respond to requests for information (RFIs) and construction observation.
  • Assist in preparation of project proposals, including cost estimation, materials and labor requirements.
  • Quality control of assigned projects.
  • Stay current and proactive with industry trends, advancements and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and low voltage technology
  • Familiarity with system design principles and BICSI codes
  • Experience in electrical engineering or related field is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit highly desirable; Bluebeam or other design software a plus
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical material effectively
