Commissioning Engineer (CxE) |  Electrical

Description:

The Commissioning Engineer (CxE) is responsible for development and execution of comprehensive electrical energization/de-energization scripts, commissioning test procedures, and site inspection plan based on the owner’s program of requirements, engineer of record’s design documents, and manufactures’ documents from Level 0 to Level 6. This includes the engineer of record’s design and contractor’s construction power designs. The CxE is responsible to comprehend manufacturer’s equipment installation, operation and maintenance, one-line diagrams, control & SCADA diagrams, short circuit, over current protective device coordination, advance relay protection, arc flash, conductor pulling, and underground conductor ampacity derating study. CxE is responsible for development and execution of load bank plans. Responsible to develop scripts for, execute, and attend equipment factory witness tests. The CxE shall have detail knowledge of electrical power distribution equipment of system voltages up to 138-kvolts. CxE shall review equipment shop drawing submittals. Collaborate with owner’s design and construction teams to develop, implement, and manage the electrical commissioning activities for each project including but not limited to data centers, manufacturing facilities, modular equipment skids, and renovations. Respond to site specific engineering Requests for Information (RFI) in coordination with the Engineer of Record (EOR). Attend, in person, all energization and de-energization events.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred (or 10+ years of relevant work experience on large scale construction projects) with a focus on Electrical.

2-5 years of hyperscale datacenter construction experience with hands-on inspection experience.

Experience in a quality control role with extensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and controls equipment.

Ability to work with designers, construction project managers, superintendents, owner’s operations teams, etc. in a positive, productive way that encourages collaboration.

Understanding of quality assurance, quality control engineering testing techniques and methodologies utilizing software management tools.

Familiarity with scheduling software such as P6.

Familiarity with BIM 360 and/or other Cx software platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

Quality Management certifications with emphasis in Construction.

Description: Lead electrical engineering design for lighting, power distribution, fire alarm and advanced systems. Completes project life cycle ensuring quality, efficiency, and reliability of electrical system design for major clients in healthcare, higher education, and corporate markets. Responsible for deliverable timelines, project management and team leadership for the electrical department.

Responsibilities:

  • Electrical System calculations, equipment selection and layouts, project drawing and specifications. AutoCad, Revit, BIM360 usage.
  • Construction cost estimation, administration, site visits, and coordination.
  • Act as primary liaison between clients and technical staff (engineers, designers, and drafters) from project award through completion.

Description:

Low Voltage Systems Design.  Work directly with senior and project engineers and designers through the project life cycle to produce high quality, efficient and reliable system designs that respond to the needs of our clients in the healthcare, corporate and higher education markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Design low voltage electrical systems: telecommunication, fire alarm systems, security systems, telecommunications, and audiovisual AV systems.
  • Perform system calculations, equipment selection and layouts, project drawings, specifications and construction cost estimates.
  • Coordination of system designs and equipment with other engineering disciplines.
