Introducing Intern Lily Mendes
HAWA has a new intern! A senior at Olentangy Berlin High School, Lily Mendes spends part of her time at Olentangy’s STEM Academy, focusing on science, technology, engineering and math. As part of the STEM curriculum, she must fulfill one internship in each of her senior year semesters. The internships cover 10 weeks and at least 40 hours total. Although Lily plans are to major in mechanical engineering in college, her internship at HAWA has exposed her to all facets of MEP consulting. She has spent time with our electrical engineers reviewing lighting layouts and photometric calculations as well as 3D modeling and design of piping and duct systems. Lily is an enthusiastic learner and does not shy away from asking questions.
At HAWA, we know that nothing replaces hands-on experience, and we are happy to help Lily get a better understanding of where her career path could lead her.
