General Description

HAWA Engineers partnered with WSA Studio and Marker Construction to build the Global Impact STEM Academy (GISA). This new 30,000 sq. ft., single-story educational facility located on the campus of Clark State College in Springfield, Ohio, consists of classrooms and lab spaces and serves as an “Upper Academy” where students in grades 10-12 learn skills necessary to enter the workforce or pursue further education in specific career paths.

The academic facilities include environmental science and biochemistry laboratories connected by a prep room, an art room equipped with a kiln, an agricultural science classroom with a greenhouse, and a food science laboratory.

The administrative and support areas include an entry plaza and reception area, conference rooms, a nurse’s station, guidance counselors’ offices, and a kitchenette. The common areas include a central dining space and an outdoor patio.

Our Role

MEPT Design of air handling units, hot water equipment, exhaust fans, and ductwork coordination throughout the building. Our technology team provided designs for the data, voice, video, and physical security infrastructure design & coordination of outside plant optical fiber, backbone pathways, and cabling.
