General Description

In order to meet the current standards set forth by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation in Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) and improve energy efficiency, the University of Akron’s animal research vivarium required renovations. Key components of the design were prioritized to ensure the project budget was strictly adhered to, and phasing of the construction was required to minimize disruption to the facility.

Our Role

HAWA provided full MEP design and construction review services. Budgeting and prioritization of key MEP design elements were included in early design phases to ensure that the project budget was maintained. Detailed phasing construction documents were created to ensure minimal disruption to the occupied laboratories.
